Images

The process for adding an image to your document is simple, and we’ve listed a few tips to save you time before you get started.

ThunderDome® Image Guidelines

  1. An image should be edited (cropped, sized, and named) prior to inserting it in the HTML document. There are no image editing tools in the Editor. If an image in your document needs to be altered, it can only be removed and reinserted after changes are made in a photo editing program such as Paint or Photoshop.
  1. JPG is the only allowed image file type. See SEC File Name Standards to avoid potential filing delays due to a non-compliant image name.
  1. We recommend a maximum image width of 800 pixels for review purposes. When you insert an exceptionally large image then create a proof, images are scaled down to fit within margins during the conversion to PDF or Word. Font size is scaled down proportionally to the image and can result in tiny text that is difficult to read.

How to Insert a New Image

Insert Image is the first button on the Insert ribbon. First, place your cursor where you want to insert the image, then press the button.

Browse for the file on your device and select it. Press Add to Project Folder then Insert.

The image has been saved to your Project Folder and can be reinserted or added in a new location by pressing Insert Image then choosing the image from the dropdown menu instead of browsing for the file on your device.

Insert from the Project Folder

A single image can be used in multiple places within your HTML document. Place your cursor in the new location where you want to insert the image, then press the Insert Image button. Select the image from the dropdown menu instead of browsing for the file on your device.

How to Remove an Image

An image can be removed just like text, by selecting it and using Backspace or Delete on your keyboard.

An image that has been removed from its location is still available in the Project Folder, so it can be added in a different location within the document. It can be replaced by uploading an image of the same name.

An unused image in the Project Folder does not get submitted to SEC.
