Requirements
To use this process, you must have:
- Access to the EDGAR POC email — If you do not have access to the email or knowledge of the contact person, please reach out to RDG Filings for assistance.
- Individual Login.gov credentials or the ability to create a Login.gov account — Note, this is NOT the same as EDGAR enrollment or applying for EDGAR access.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Sign in to the new EDGAR Filer Management website. Scroll down and select ENROLL IN EDGAR NEXT.

2. Select PASSPHRASE RESET, then select “Request a passphrase reset token.”

3. Enter the CIK of the EDGAR account that requires a new passphrase and a reason for update (e.g., “forgot my passphrase”). Select REQUEST TOKEN.

Within a few minutes, the EDGAR POC should receive an email containing a security token for the CIK you entered. The security token expires in 60 minutes.
4. Return to the EDGAR Filer Management website, select ENROLL IN EDGAR NEXT, then PASSPHRASE RESET, and then Reset Passphrase.

5. Enter the CIK, security token number from the email, and desired passphrase. The passphrase must be exactly eight (8) characters, contain one of the four special characters listed, and at least one number (0-9).
Type the passphrase again to confirm and then select Reset Passphrase.

6. EDGAR will return an accession number to confirm your passphrase has been updated.
Once a CIK has been enrolled in EDGAR Next, the use of passphrase is discontinued.
Next: Update the CCC
Before enrolling in EDGAR Next – The CCC needs to be updated if it has not been reset since September 2019. See Reset Password and CCC.
