EDGAR Next Enrollment

RDG Help Center > EDGAR Next > EDGAR Next Enrollment

Enrollment is a streamlined process that allows EDGAR filers to transition to EDGAR Next without presenting a Form ID, notarized documents, or power of attorney to SEC staff. Enrollment requests are typically processed and effective the same day they are submitted. Enrollment is required for all EDGAR filers who wish to continue filing uninterrupted on EDGAR.

Filers whose amended Form ID applications are granted by SEC staff on or after March 24, 2025, will automatically be subject to EDGAR Next and do not need to enroll.

A filer may enroll itself or may select anyone it trusts to enroll it, including but not limited to the filer’s employee, filing agent or law firm, or other trusted entity or individual.

SEC staff recommend that the filer select a trusted person or entity to enroll it because that person or entity will have sensitive information about the filer’s account necessary to enroll.

It is recommended that prior to enrollment you coordinate with any or all individuals or filing agents that currently file on your behalf. Each filer may enroll only once, and only one individual can enroll each filer. Therefore, each filer should determine which entity or individual the filer will authorize to enroll it and ensure that others do not attempt to enroll the filer without authorization.

The individual who enrolls the filer on the dashboard must have Login.gov individual account credentials to access the dashboard.

Key Dates

March 24, 2025 – Enrollment opens.

March 24, 2025 to September 12, 2025 – Enrollment period. To avoid interruptions in the ability to file, filers should enroll during this period, no later than September 12, 2025.

September 15, 2025 – Compliance with EDGAR Next is required to file on the EDGAR System. Beginning on September 15, 2025, filers that have not enrolled or been granted access via Form ID on or after March 24, 2025, will be unable to file on EDGAR until they enroll.

December 19, 2025 – Enrollment ends at 10 p.m. ET. After December 19, 2025, filers that have not enrolled (or been granted access after submitting amended Form ID on or after March 24, 2025) will not be able to file on EDGAR or otherwise access their accounts unless they submit a Form ID application for EDGAR access that is granted by SEC staff.

Prepare for Enrollment

NOT needed to enroll:

  • Power of attorney
  • Notarization
  • Form ID is not part of the enrollment process for filers who have CURRENT and VALID codes.

CIK Verification Tools

  1. EDGAR company search
  2. CIK lookup

The EDGAR Point of Contact (POC) should be verified before you update the passphrase or CCC. This is because the SEC will send the current EDGAR POC a security token via email as part of the reset process. As of September 12, 2025, we are unable to update the POC. If the POC is no longer valid you will not be able to reset the codes and therefore should submit the Form ID in lieu of proceeding with enrollment.

Update the Passphrase

If your passphrase is unknown or hasn’t been reset since September 2019, it must be updated before enrollment. See Reset Passphrase.

Update the CCC

If your CCC is unknown or hasn’t been reset since September 2019, it must be updated before enrollment. See Reset Password and CCC.

RDG Filings might have the CCC; please inquire with our team.

Account Administrators

Two account administrators are required for non-single-member companies. Single-member companies are not required to authorize more than one account administrator; however, it is strongly recommended that individual and single-member company filers authorize two account administrators during enrollment to avoid access and account management problems that may arise if a single account administrator is unavailable.

Prior to enrollment collect the information listed below for two account administrators that the filer will authorize during enrollment.

  • Business address, (Street Address, City, State/Territory, Zip/Postal Code, Province/Country.)
  • Business telephone number, and
  • Email address This email address must match the individual’s Login.gov individual account credentials for use on EDGAR.

Annual Confirmation Date

The quarter-end date by which the filer will perform an annual confirmation on EDGAR. Choose from March 31, June 30, September 30, or December 31.
