Frequently asked questions about using ThunderDome® Editor.
If I upload the source document, will it overwrite the project that is in there now?
Yes, any document you upload as the “source document” will overwrite the current document. Upload Source Document is typically used for newly created project documents. Use Insert Document to add riders or large excerpts of text to an existing document within the Editor.
Can I upload PDF files to my project?
ThunderDome does not allow PDF uploads. The only files that can be used as the source document, or base of a project, are: (1) Word documents, or (2) HTML documents copied from another ThunderDome project. Additionally, PDFs cannot be inserted into an existing project document as images or riders.
If you have PDFs for an ARS filing, please contact file@rdgfilings.com for assistance.
How do I add a section to my document?
Currently sections are only added by RDG team members. Please email us with your specific request to add, change, or remove a section.
Why are lines missing in my proof?
PDF proofs – Try this quick adjustment: Go to Adobe Acrobat and choose Edit > Preferences > Page Display > uncheck the box next to “Enhance thin lines.” The rules and underlines should then be visible on your screen.
Word proofs – When creating the proof, make sure to select “Retain Shading” in the Options list.
Why does the text look so small in my proof? The font size shrinks when I make a PDF.
Font sizes that appear correct in the Editor seem smaller in the proof when a table or image is too large to fit within the PDF margins. The PDF conversion process tries to accommodate the oversized element by scaling down the entire page content, which unintentionally reduces the font size.
To determine which image or table needs to be resized, open the document or preview it. Shrink the browser window and scroll to the right. Look for an image or table that protrudes into the white space.
Oversized image – Replace the image after you have resized it using an image editing program. See our image guidelines here.
Oversized table – Right-click in the table and select “Make table width 100%” or select Table Properties for table and column size adjustments.
