ThunderDome Release Notes – September 2025
This release includes many updates, primarily backend changes, to support the SEC’s EDGAR Next rollout, which takes full effect on September 15, 2025. Visit our EDGAR Next Resource Center for enrollment guidance and using EDGAR Next in ThunderDome.
Portal Updates
Header Links Now Point to Correct Help Center Page: The RDG Filings and Support links in the Portal header have been updated. They now direct to the updated Help Center pages.
Download Submission XML Available After Hours: The Download Submission XML button in Portal no longer enforces EDGAR filing hours (6:00 am – 10:00 pm ET).
- You can now download submission XML at any time.
- Submission to the SEC is still restricted to standard EDGAR hours.
Default XBRL Setting for Certain Forms: When creating new projects in Portal, the following forms now default to XBRL = Yes:
- Form SD
- Form 11-K
Internal Reporting Improvements: Various internal reports have been updated to improve accuracy and consistency of status and filing information.
Email & Notification Fixes
Corrected XBRL Email for Non-XBRL Projects: Fixed an issue where XBRL notification emails indicated a LIVE filing was being sent when an EDGAR Next client performed a TEST filing for a non-XBRL project.
- Emails now correctly reflect that the filing is a TEST submission.
EDGAR Next Enhancements
Improved Project Status Handling for EDGAR Next projects in Portal:
- When an EDGAR Next transmission returns with a status of DISSEMINATED, the project is now marked as ACCEPTED in Portal.
- The project status is updated to Filed, appropriate XBRL emails are sent, and Excel-based project updates are disabled once the filing is disseminated.
